The Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology (GSMST) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur hosted a one-day workshop on “Telemedicine and Digital Health” at the Mehta Family Centre for Engineering in Medicine (MFCEM), IIT Kanpur. The event brought together academicians and medical professionals to explore the growing field of telemedicine.

According to the press release, the workshop highlights engaging discussions, insightful presentations, lectures, and networking opportunities in the field of telemedicine. Participants, including scientists, clinicians, professors, and PhD students exchanged knowledge and insights, fostering a vibrant environment for learning and collaboration within Telemedicine.

“With a focus on the latest advancements in telemedicine, the workshop facilitated knowledge sharing, idea exchange, and paved the way for collaborative research and innovation in the realm of healthcare,” the press release read.

During the discussion, K Muralidhar from the mechanical engineering department, IIT Kanpur and Amitabha Bandyopadhyay from the BSBE department, IIT Kanpur shared updates on various research and development projects undertaken by the eleven centres of excellence (CoEs) at GSMST.

Concluding the discussion, professor-in-charge at GSMST, Sandeep Verma emphasised the role of Gangwal School, IIT Kanpur in innovation within the telemedicine and digital health sectors by providing and fostering a conducive environment for knowledge exchange and cross-pollination of ideas.

Distinguished speakers including the director of Apollo Telemedicine Networking Foundation and Apollo Tele Health Services, K Ganapathy, professor at the University of Minnesota, Jaideep Srivastava and Saroj Kanta Mishra from RML Institute of Medical Sciences, shared their knowledge during the discussions.
